Remove the torque converter
assembly from the transmission assembly.

1.Remove the 18 bolts to
remove the converter housing.

M6 x 1.0 x 30 mm
2: M6 x 1.0 x 35 mm

| caution |
Be careful not to damage the
fitting surface of the converter housing and the
transmission case.
|
Using a plastic hammer, tap the converter housing to
remove it.
|
|
1.Apply the sealant to the
transmission case as shown in the
figure.
Specified sealant: TORAY
SILICONE-SH7801 or equivalent

Spread the sealant over the
contact surface.

|
|

| caution |
Be careful not to damage the
fitting surface of the converter housing and the
transmission case.
|
Using a plastic hammer, install the converter
housing to the transmission case.

Hit all around contact surface
with a plastic hammer during
installation.

|
|
3.Temporarily tighten the 18
bolts by hand as shown in the
illustration.

4.
| caution |
- Be sure to tighten bolts "1" before
tightening bolts "2".
- Be sure to tighten bolts "1" evenly and
gradually, in a diagonally opposing
sequence.

Tighten the 18 bolts to the specified torque in the
order shown in the figure.
Tightening torque:
25 ± 4 N·m
|

Using a screwdriver, position the
drive gear on the oil pump assembly in the centre. Then
install the torque converter assembly on the transmission
assembly.

|
Measure the dimension from the end
face of the converter housing to the torque converter
assembly as shown in the figure, and check that the torque
converter assembly is installed
properly.
