INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

>>A<< STRIPE TAPES INSTALLATION

1.Clean the tapes installation surfaces on the body with the parts cleaner (MZ100387 or equivalent).
2.
caution
  • When attaching the tapes, the surrounding temperature should be 20 - 38°C and air should completely free from dust.
  • If the surrounding temperature is lower then 20°C, the tapes and the places on the body where the tapes are to be attached should be heated to 20 - 30°C.
Peel off the backing paper from the reverse side of the tapes, and then attach them to the vehicle body so that they fit properly in position.

3.
caution
  • If the special tool (spatula) slides to the side, there will be slack at the end of the tape, causing wrinkles, and the tape may deviate from the correct application position.
  • If the tape is not applied properly, it may come off later.
Attach the tapes so that no air bubbles get trapped under the surface. For adhesive-type tapes, use the special tool Stripe Tape Spatula (MB990528) to press down them evenly, starting from the centre and working toward the top and bottom, so that no air bubbles get trapped underneath.

4.For adhesive-type tapes, hold one edge of the application tape (surface protective layer) and slowly peel it off horizontally. If there are any air bubbles in the tape after application, use a sewing needle to make small holes in the bubbles, and use the corners of the special tool to press the air out.
